RECAP OF LAST FRIDAY'S GAME

Gabe Huskey rushed for 211 yards and two touchdowns leading Harrison to a 21-9 victory over the Morrilton High School football team in a driving rain on Friday night at Devil Dog Stadium. In a game in which the wet conditions hampered both teams' ability to throw the ball, the Devil Dogs also struggled to move the ball on the ground and managed just 186 total yards on the night. The Devil Dogs had just 58 yards on 25 carries and sophomore Tucker Granberry completed 11 of 37 pass attempts for 128 yards with one touchdown and one interception. The touchdown came on a 64-yard connection with senior Mason Adams in the third quarter for the Dixon Family Dental Big Smile Play of the Game. The touchdown came with the Devil Dogs trailing, 21-3, and was the final score of the game for either team. Harrison led 14-3 at halftime after senior Jesus Arias kicked a 37-yard field goal on the final play of the first half. The Goblins opened the scoring on an 85-yard touchdown run from Huskey and went up 14-0 when Huskey scored on a one-yard plunge on fourth down with 4:15 remaining in the first half. Adams, who earned Colton's Offensive Player of the Game honors, finished with three receptions for 85 yards. Junior Lamar Wofford took home Colton's Defensive Player of the Game honors nabbing an interception and a team-high eight tackles. Senior Keywan Shavers also had eight tackles and sophomore Cade Halbrook finished with seven stops to earn the Dickson Auto Mall Impact Player of the Game award. Junior Matthew Wahrmund had a sack for the Devil Dogs and senior Garrett Hendrix contributed six tackles. With the loss, the Devil Dogs fall to 1-3 overall, 0-1 in 5A West conference play. In the other 5-A West games from Friday night, Alma beat Vilonia, 34-16, and Farmington whipped Clarksville, 38-13.
