PLAYERS OF THE GAME

Sophomore quarterback Jacolby Criswell passed for 198 yards and rushed for 104 yards and accounted for three touchdowns as the Morrilton High School football team beat Farmington, 42-14, Friday night to move a step closer to a postseason berth. For the second week in a row, the Devil Dogs had a 21-0 lead midway through the first quarter. Criswell opened the scoring with a two-yard touchdown run on the first possession of the game and threw a 39-yard touchdown pass to senior Laken Dillard on fourth down on the next possession to go up, 14-0. After the Devil Dog defense forced a second consecutive three-and-out, Criswell ran 60 yards for the third touchdown of the opening quarter and the Dixon Family Dental Big Smile Play of the Game. After neither team scored in the second quarter, the Devil Dogs would go up, 35-7, before the start of the fourth quarter with third-quarter touchdown runs from sophomore Xaviar Clemons and junior Mason Adams. Clemons capped the Morrilton scoring with a four-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. The Devil Dogs rolled up 574 yards of offense with a season-high 363 rushing yards in the game. Clemons finished with 159 yards and two touchdowns. Dillard was the leading receiver with six catches for 103 yards and a touchdown to earn Colton's Offensive Player of the Game honors. Senior Simeon Lee was the Colton's Defensive Player of the Game with six tackles. Senior Isaiah Williams led the team with ten tackles, junior Jake Knowles had nine stops and junior Keywan Shavers had a sack for the Devil Dog defense that limited the Cardinals to 243 yards of offense. The win is the fourth in a row for the Devil Dogs, who improve to 6-3 overall, 4-2 in the 5A West. The Devil Dogs play their regular season finale this Friday against Clarksville. The Panthers lost to Vilonia, 48-28, on Friday.
